Why choose Warhound Wrestling to enhance your combat skills?
We want to provide you with the skills and knowledge to ensure you are ready for what life throws at you.
Our classes are programmed by experienced MMA fighters including Head Coach, UFC Welterweight Fighter John ‘Hitman’ Hathaway.
There will be a sport specific warm up including joint mobilisation, before hitting the main component of the session- which will teach you a variety of techniques.
These techniques and drills are used in situational sparring, to replicate real-fight scenarios, which allows you to push yourself by applying your newly learnt skills and test your mental and physical capabilities.

FAQ’s
What do I need to bring with me?
You MUST bring a gum shield with you. We can provide all the pads you will need. We advise you to purchase your own when you are ready. It is recommended that you bring a towel with you.
Can I train for fun or only competition?
You can train for either or both. We will support your fitness journey and if you want to compete and progress through the amateur to professional we will be there.
What do I wear?
You do not have to buy any fancy gear - however, you will need to wear POCKETLESS shorts with no zips or buttons and a t-shirt (no vests). Please make sure all piercings and jewellery are removed.
It is important to have short nails to decrease the risk of scratching. Please also be aware of your personal hygiene as there is close contact with others during class.
What type of classes do you have?
We have classes focusing on different elements of combat including Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Grappling, and Catch Wrestling.
Do I need to have experience?
Our coaches were beginners once so they understand it is sometimes daunting starting something new. Our classes are mixed ability, except for open mats- for safety this is for experienced fighters. If you have any questions, please contact us and speak to John.
Will I get hurt?
All combat classes have an element of risk of injury due to the nature of the sport. However, all techniques are taught as safely as possible. During sparring, you will be paired on size and ability. If you have any questions please contact us or speak to John for more details.
